Learning To Call You Father

Thank you, Father, for this opportunity that I heed.
I need to call on You in this, my time of need.

Father, thank You for knowing who I am,
This is new and different for me, and I really need a hand.
In this time, uncertain as my circumstances may be,
I need your guidance; I need some relief.
Father, I have heard the many good things that You seem to be.
Could You shine a light on me, from this fragile hour I plead.
Father, I have been feeling broken, scared, and incomplete.
The only hope I have known is the certainty of my defeat.
A Father is someone whom I have never known,
Because solitude and dismay have been my only home.
Help me, please, as I try to place my trust in You,
I’ll try to believe the promises that are sacred between us, too.
If spring is proof that endings are untrue,
Then allow me to start this season, trusting You.
Where barren ground once held my fear and pain,
Renew in me a good soil, a good place for You to reign.
I am learning to call you Father,
And I ask that You be the Father that I have lacked,
Please be my refuge, I need to find peace,
In Your love, will you make my broken heart complete?
Amen.
