Like Job

I have ever felt like Job,
Faithful in my eagerness, Faithful in my gratitude.
Acknowledging God’s grace can be corrective,
Acknowledging life’s lonely roads can be protective.

I have ever felt like Job,
Faithful in my happenstance, Faithful to carry on.
Acknowledging God’s hedges of protection,
Acknowledging God’s tests and assessments.
I have ever felt like Job,
Faithful in my appearances, Faithful in God’s order.
Acknowledging God has plans for me,
Acknowledging not understanding every plan for me.
I have ever felt like Job,
Faithful in asking questions, Faithful in my prayers.
Acknowledging God hasn’t tricked me,
Acknowledging this journey is meant for me.
I have ever felt like Job,
Faithful in the breaking, Faithful in my tears.
Acknowledging God has not abandoned my life,
Acknowledging I am not alone in this strife.
I have ever felt like Job,
Faithful in my silence, Faithful in growing cold.
Acknowledging that surrender is where I find His presence.
Acknowledging that in the waiting, He is near in the lessons.

I have ever felt like Job,
Faithful when loss teaches what abundance never would.
Acknowledging that pruning grows what comfort never could.
